Useful ABCs teaching tools

Very, very useful tools when you are working on alphabet and phonics... The child needs to touch and feel the letters, see them in different colors and shapes and try different textures. Magnetic letters as well as stickers are valuable resources that can be used in many, many fun ways. You can lay them on the floor or fridge or table and match capital with lower case, or sort them by color, or mix all different types of letter tools you have in a baking tray, have your child play with them, say with a scoop and other kitchen utensils and then go "letter fishing": say a letter or its sound and ask the child to find all of those examples of letters he/she can find in the tray and line them up or put them all in a small bowl. Be creative!
