I try to always use every chance I have to have my kids practice their writing. Writing the title of a book or poster or any other craft we make is short enough not to bore them and makes them feel like they are in charge of something important and meaningful!

Spring craft idea

Make your own garden and get ready for spring with your kids by using either coffee filters or muffin cases! Dip them in a bowl of water where you dropped some food coloring and use them to make beautiful flowers!

Painter's tape

Choose a shape and make it with tape, then paint all around it and when it's dry, remove the tape and...there you go!
You can also use this technique to write your child's name and work on his/her name recognition skills!

Don't throw away old magazines and newspapers... you never know what you can do with them on a rainy afternoon. If your child is old enough, let them cut out the pictures by themselves. Scissors are great to develop fine motor strength.
